Fox attended the University of Bath before moving into radio professionally. Early in his career, he worked for Radio Wyvern. His talent, confidence, and energetic style helped him gain attention, and he later moved to Radio Luxembourg.
However, his biggest breakthrough came when he joined Capital Radio in London in 1987. This role transformed him into a household name. He hosted several shows and became especially popular with younger audiences because of his fun personality and strong connection with listeners.
During his radio years, he earned the nickname “Dr Fox” after presenting a late-night radio show called Dr Fox’s Midnight Surgery. The nickname stayed with him throughout his career, and he later shortened it to “Foxy.”
Neil Fox’s Rise to Fame
Neil Fox became one of the biggest stars in British radio during the 1990s. He hosted Capital Radio’s drive-time shows and was regularly heard by millions of listeners.
